Elon Musk recently said that Tesla’s declining sales in Europe are due to the region’s “pretty weak” auto market, noting that the problem affects all manufacturers. However, recent data shows the opposite – the electric car market in Europe is growing, while Tesla’s sales are falling much more than others.

In April, the European electric car market showed a record growth of 28 percent compared to last year. Despite this, Tesla sales in the EU countries fell by almost half – by 49 percent. The trend continues in May. For example, in the UK, electric car sales increased by 28 percent, and Tesla lost 45 percent of sales compared to last year.
