39-year-old Ovechkin became Washington’s top scorer in the playoff series with Montreal

39-year-old Russian forward of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin scored a goal in the fifth game of the first round of the NHL playoffs with the Montreal Canadiens (4:1). This goal was the fourth for the captain of the Capitals in the current Stanley Cup playoffs and allowed him to become the sole leading sniper of Washington at the end of the series, which also ended with a score of 4-1.

The Capitals’ top three players, along with Ovechkin, are Connor McMichael and Brandon Duhaime , who have scored one goal fewer than Ovechkin — three each. Tom Wilson , Dylan Strome and defenseman Jacob Chychrun have each scored two goals in five games against Montreal .
